The last expedition was one of the most awaited by FLAAR Mesoamérica team. We went to Livingston, a municipal area from Izabal department in Guatemala, located 15 km. aprox. by boat across Puerto Barrios city. The paths we found in our expedition inside the tropical jungle are home to many native plants. We have a special interest in one of them: the vanilla orchid. We found many specimens of this orchid vine in several spots. It is said this orchid could have been a cacao flavorer used by the maya people, limited for noble people and warriors. We also found insects and bromelias, so the entire day was full of color and diversity.
