Glossary for Wetland Areas of Livingston (Terms in english and spanish)
Wetlands are areas that remain in flooded conditions or with soil saturated with water for considerable periods of time.
The term wetland encompasses a great diversity of ecosystems, the key element shared by all types of wetlands is, of course, the abundance of water that defines their physical, plant, and animal characteristics and their relationships. The water can come from the sea, rivers, rain or the groundwater table.
