The 2025 FLAAR Mesoamerica report brings together the results of its research, documentation, and outreach projects carried out in Guatemala, highlighting the continuity of the Biodiversity Documentation Project in the Maya Biosphere Reserve, the production of audiovisual materials and educational publications, as well as participation in academic, cultural, and community events. In addition, it presents strategic alliances and the 2026 work plan that will strengthen institutional lines of action.
Description
The 2025 annual report of FLAAR Mesoamerica presents a synthesis of the work carried out by its multidisciplinary team in research, documentation, and outreach projects. Among the most relevant activities is the continuation of the Biodiversity Documentation Project in the Maya Biosphere Reserve, which will be renewed for five more years, along with field trips aimed at recording ecosystems, species of flora and fauna, and traditional practices linked to biodiversity. These efforts generated audiovisual materials, reports, and outreach content that provide valuable information for research and education.
The document also highlights the audiovisual production and publications completed during the year, participation in conferences, workshops, and community activities, as well as the development of MayanToons educational materials and the consolidation of strategic alliances and international cooperation initiatives. Finally, it includes the objectives and work plan for 2026, which aim to ensure continuity and strengthen institutional lines of action in research, education, and outreach.
