Lechemiel, Leche de Vaca Tree, Lacmellea standleyi
Lacmellea standleyi stands out as an interesting species with huge potential. For what has been described of its flavorful latex and fruits, there should be a great interest in cultivating the species.
Description
It could be said that
is a lowland species. In fact, the humid ecosystems in which it grows are generally at sea level and proximate to the ocean. For instance, this has been true for the specimens we could photograph in Livingston, and many herbaria samples that can be consulted online.
